About the Eating Disorder Test
This self-screening questionnaire uses clinically informed questions to help identify eating habits, attitudes, and behaviours that may indicate disordered eating.
It’s designed to assess how often these patterns show up in your daily life. Your results won’t confirm a diagnosis, but they’ll indicate whether it’s worth exploring further.
Evidence-Informed Questions
Adapted from a validated clinical eating disorder screening instrument used internationally.
A Guide, Not a Diagnosis
Your score highlights whether your patterns warrant a closer look. Only a qualified professional can diagnose an eating disorder.
A Clear Next Step
If your results suggest a possible eating disorder, Elyséa HEALTH can connect you with a clinician for a comprehensive in-person assessment.
Your Eating Disorder Test Score Explained
The screening questionnaire’s score categorisation acts as a reference point for seeking further clinical clarity.
Low Likelihood
Your answers show minimal signs of disordered eating. No further action is needed right now.
Moderate Likelihood
Your responses suggest mild-to-moderate concerns about eating or body image, worth discussing with a GP.
Higher Likelihood
Your responses show a strong, recurring pattern. We recommend booking an evaluation with one of our specialists.
Whatever Your Score, Support Is Available
Connect with an AHPRA-registered specialist doctor at Elyséa HEALTH for qualified advice on eating disorders.
A few more things worth knowing before you begin.
No. This is a screening tool only. Eating disorder symptoms are complex and often overlap with other conditions; only a formal clinical assessment can confirm an official diagnosis.
Each screening test takes approximately 1.5 to 3 minutes and includes 9 to 20 questions, depending on the assessment.
This tool screens for attitudes and behaviors associated with conditions such as anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge eating disorder, though it can’t distinguish between them; a clinical assessment is needed for that.
A higher score doesn’t confirm an eating disorder, but it’s a strong signal worth acting on. We’d recommend booking an assessment with one of our clinicians or raising your results with your GP.
